I have been into e-learning field and software product development, deployment and implementation over the past 10 years or even more.  Have been an Hi Tech R&amp;D scientist for majority of my career before leaving teaching field officially.

All your posts make very good reading.  You appear like my immediate colleagues to me.  Let me say out one thing - each of us feel that OUR FIELDS are the most difficult to tackle whereas others fields are not-so-difficult.  We are entitled to think like that.

But, I am glad that we are coming to terms with this USABILITY / LEARNABILITY issues in software and e-learning content.  Let us not forget that we are all governed by BUSINESS concerns and time constraints in delivery.  Only those in Government probably can afford to relax a little on this matter.  

Having said that I leave the forum open for discussion further.
